- About The Mutual Fund Store -
In July 1996, Adam Bold opened The Mutual Fund Store® in a Kansas City-area suburb. In 1998, he made his debut as host of The Mutual Fund Show on a Kansas City radio station. The show quickly became an effective tool for communicating his message and philosophy to listeners.
In 2000, Mr. Bold opened a second location in the St. Louis area. And when The Mutual Fund Show was also a great success in St. Louis, a business model was born. The Mutual Fund Show is distributed nationally on a weekly basis, airing in more than 70 markets coast-to-coast as of December 2014. And today, the company’s system of fee-based RIA firms includes more than 100 company and franchise locations across the United States.
The company’s target client base – America’s mainstream investors – typically has had limited access to independent, fee-based, full-service investment advice. At The Mutual Fund Store, advisors develop personalized investment plans for clients using no-load and load-waived mutual funds. No advisor or entity in The Mutual Fund Store system accepts commissions or incentives of any kind for utilizing any fund in client portfolios.
Advisors at The Mutual Fund Store manage client investments using asset allocation and mutual fund recommendations from The Mutual Fund Research Center®, the research arm for all advisors of The Mutual Fund Store. Chris Bouffard serves as Chief Investment Officer of The Mutual Fund Research Center.
The Mutual Fund Store is a nationwide system of Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs), which include affiliated companies and independently owned and operated franchises. Individual stores are SEC- or state-registered investment advisers. Each store can offer investment advisory services to prospective and existing clients in the state where the store is located, while a number of Stores may also offer advisory services in nearby or other states. The adviser may not transact business in states where it is not appropriately registered, excluded or exempted from registration.
